Principles of Mass and Balance

This course is aimed at load controllers and covers the principles of flight, aircraft loading restrictions, bay and zone cumulative restrictions and completion of manual loadsheet.  

Fork Truck

(ITSSAR – HSE accredited) Operators course for the following Fork Trucks:

  • Cat A2 - Rider
  • Cat B1 - 1.5T to 10T counterbalance fork trucks
  • Cat D1 – Reach trucks.

Security Training

Level 4 – is a half day course providing a basic level of awareness in security covering modules 1,2,6 & 11.  This course is aimed at staff of regulated cargo agents involved with the export of freight or documentation such as airwaybills, manifests or consignment security certificates (CSC’s)

Level 3 -  is a 3 day course covering modules 1 to 7 and 9 to 12. Aimed at security managers of regulated agents and those intending to train at level 4.

Level 2 – is a 2 and a half day course covering modules 1 to 7, 9, 11 & 12.  Aimed at those who supervise staff trained to level 1 and make decisions regarding the handling and screening of cargo.

Level 1 – is a 2 day course covering modules 1 to 7, 9 and 11 and is aimed at those responsible for screening cargo from unknown consignors and checking the integrity of cargo from known consignors.

Security for catering staff

A course for those involved in securing / screening food and provisions destined for cargo and passenger aircraft.

IATA - Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air

Category 1 - Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of the shippers, including operators staff acting as shipper, operators  staff preparing Dangerous Goods as Company Materials ( COMAT)

Category 2 - Packers

Category 3 - Staff of freight forwarders involved in processing Dangerous Goods.

Category 4 - Staff of freight forwarders involved in cargo, mail or stores (other than Dangerous Goods)

Category 5 - Staff of freight forwarders involved in the handling, storage and loading of cargo, mail and stores

Category 6 - Operators and ground handling agents staff accepting cargo, mail or stores

Category 7 - Operators and ground handling agents staff accepting cargo, mail or stores (other than Dangerous Goods)

Category 8 - Operators and ground handling agents staff responsible for handing, storage and loading of cargo, mail or stores and baggage.

Category 9 - Passenger and Handling Staff

Category 10 - Flight crew members and load planners

Category 11 - Crew members (other than flight crew members)

Category 12 - Security Staff who deal with the screening of passengers and their baggage and cargo, mail or stores.

All courses are accredited by the CAA  (Civil Aviation Authority).  Examinations for category 1 and 6 courses are set by the CAA and the certificates carry a CAA authorisation number.

IATA – Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)

This course covers the requirements of ADR which are applicable for the transport of Dangerous Goods by road both in the UK and Europe.  The course is applicable to those who handle cargo which contain or may contain Dangerous Goods.  Those involved in aviation need to be aware of their responsibilities in accepting and despatching Dangerous Goods by road vehicles.

Manual Handling

A course aimed at those involved in manual handling operations, transporting supporting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling.  Not just for warehouse and manual labour positions but for office, IT, sales etc.
